The average course is almost five miles long, and a round of golf means a lot of mileage on the feet.

Strength is also vital because of the many, many times you will swing the clubs during a single round. Even if you are scoring 80 or below, you are still swinging that club several hundred times in a round. You will require a lot of power to do that without pain or failing in the swing.

Good golf training really should begin in the fitness center. Improve your aerobic ability and physical strength and you can see an almost immediate improvement in your scores.
