Stomach weight loss is really difficult to attain because it is an area that does not respond well to toning. While you arms, legs, and buttocks will firm up with relatively light toning exercises, your mid section needs a lot of cardio and toning in order for anything to be accomplished. This is because if you only do toning, it will create nice ab muscles completely hidden by your fat on top. It is also where most people carry the bulk of their fat.

The first place to begin and the most constant thing to maintain is your cardio exercise. Without cardio, your stomach will remain completely unchanged. Running, dancing, and biking are great ways to do this. Remember that it is the intensity of the cardio work out, not the length. Make sure you sweat and get your heart pumping. Let yourself be out of breath.

Not everyone can devote a large chunk of time to getting in shape. Changing your lifestyle in small ways can help. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Do not drive anywhere that is close enough to walk. Get in a stationary bike or even just pace around your living room while you watch television. Any sort of movement will be better than sitting idle and can slowly chip away at your fat, though nothing beats excellent diet and regular intense exercise.

Better still, use a stationary bike during all your down time. When you do that or when you run, try to hold in your stomach and clench your muscles. This will start building up your abs while the fat melts away. Holding in your stomach helps keep it taut and uses the muscles even when you do not realize they are being used. Plus, it looks better.

Crunches are a wonderful way to get yourself in shape. They are better than sit ups because there is less of a chance of doing them wrong and less strain on your back. You lay on your back on the floor with your arms behind your head. You put your legs up with the knees bent at a ninety degree angle. You then, sucking in your stomach, lift your shoulders off the floor and bring your knees in toward your chest, contracting your stomach.

These are so much better than sit ups because crunches force your stomach to sink down into itself and be tightened from both sides. Sit ups can build really big muscle on your stomach which is not great. When it comes to toning that area, the leaner the better. If you have any fat at all on your stomach and you build bulky muscle underneath, it will merely push out the fat more and make you look like you carry a lot more weight there.

To make your crunches more challenging, get an exercise ball. These are the large rubber balls that can be found in any gym store. You sit on the ball and lean back with your feet on the floor. You do just the top part of the crunches where you lift up your shoulders. You cannot lift your legs because they are needed on the floor to balance you. It will challenge you in different ways and allow other muscles in your stomach to get use.

These balls are great for almost any exercise and can target your abs in ways you never thought. It is good to get as much variation as you can since your body tends to get used to repetitive movements. Just be careful you do not lose your balance!

It's all about the details when maximizing the effectiveness of your arm exercises. Because over the long run, small deviations in form can add up and really retard your progress.

It’s all about the details when maximizing the effectiveness of your arm exercises. Because over the long run, small deviations in form can add up and really retard your progress.

Most women aren’t even aware that they’re making said errors. It’s hard enough to show up and exercise, let alone perfect every exercise your doing.

The good news is that you don’t have to perfect every single movement to the point that it’s flawless. All you have to do is watch out for the big deviations.

So here is the important list of what NOT to do when doing arm exercises for women:

1. Heave hoeing the weight up. This is most common with barbell curls and all its variations. The problem: it places a lot of stress on your lower back and takes stress off of your biceps. Not a good thing if you want fast arm toning.

2. Letting the shoulders come up. Most common with press downs for the triceps, although some women also do this when performing curls. What’s the big deal? When you elevate the shoulders, you work your trapezius (neck) muscles, not your arm muscles. And do you really want a big neck?

3. Letting the elbows move around. This is probably the most rampant error of them all. Whether you’re doing biceps curls or triceps extensions, your elbows should always stay locked in place. Once your elbows start moving around, stress is placed on your shoulders and/or back and away from your arms.

4. Not placing weight on the heels. You should use the heels of your feet for support. This will keep you much more stable and will allow you to lift much more weight. You’re more likely to keep lower back injuries at bay by using this technique.

Avoiding the above deviations will make your arm exercises that much more effective and will also prevent injury. And although using heavier weights is critical for the fastest arm toning, never go heavy if it requires a sacrifice in form or technique. Always stay safe and lift with the best technique possible.

Regarded writer, Katherine Crawford M.S., an exercise physiologist and recent flabby arms refugee, advises women on how to avoid an expensive and invasive arm lift surgery. Discover how to get sexy and toned arms by visiting her personal blog about eliminating arm flab as soon as possible!

Are you aware that 3500 calories is one pound of fat? If you want to lose one pound in a week, you have to cut out 3500 calories, so to lose five pound in a week, you have to cut out 17,500 calories.

Are you aware that 3500 calories is one pound of fat? If you want to lose one pound in a week, you have to cut out 3500 calories, so to lose five pound in a week, you have to cut out 17,500 calories.

But the thing is, the average person only takes in about 2000 calories a day, or 14,000 per week, and that is pretty much what it takes to sustain your health. In other words, to diet away five pounds in one week you can’t eat anything, ANYTHING, for the whole entire week, PLUS one day before AND one day after the week. An average daily food intake of 2000 calories would need nine days of zero, zip, nada, none, no food whatsoever to lose 5 pounds. The problem should be obvious at this point: You can’t just diet fat off. It takes more than diet.

Here’s what will happen when you stop eating: Your body recognizes that there is no food and goes into hibernation mode. This is not a conscious decision, it’s involuntary, like your heartbeat or breathing. The first thing it does is gives up water, and that means protein, which is 75% water, and constitutes lean muscle mass. After it depletes your water, it will start to burn carbohydrates, which causes you to store fat. In other words, you will start to gain weight. This is a metabolism thing, where your body reacts by slowing down the burn rate, and any food you take in is immediately sent to the fat storage unit. You have to change your metabolism or you won’t lose weight, you’ll put more on.

Since you can’t diet off the weight then it stands to reason that you have to work on increasing your burn rate. Normally a diet gets you to take in fewer calories and what you burn slowly reduces your size. Actually, you are just losing water, and because 75% of your lean muscle protein is water, pretty soon you start to gain again. You are in hibernation. Your body has made a choice. Give up the protein, live off the carbs, and store as much fat as possible. Any food you take in is converted immediately to fat to help you through this period of starvation. Remember, a bear can sleep though an entire winter without eating.

One thing is for sure: Body Builders don’t eat a lot of Big Macs and Whoppers. They have a totally different diet, and couple with some simple exercises, they control their metabolisms. If you like that sort of look, they are usually pretty hot, too. They eat like they will never have another meal. For all the food they take in, they should weight 400 pounds, but they don’t. They have learned to speed up their metabolism, so what they eat is going into muscle building, not fat storing.

Fact is, you can’t just diet and make fat go away, so you have to make a complete lifestyle choice. You want to lose weight? Start with a little exercise. Get your metabolism kicked up. Once that starts to take off a little weight, THEN you start your diet, and after that you increase your exercise. When you start AFTER you have increased your metabolism, the work will be more effective. The pounds will come off faster and more easily. The weight loss is a lifestyle change and more likely to stay off.

Understand that you put your weight on because you don’t burn everything that you eat. You store some of it, and over time, that weight builds up. Problem is, storage is driven by what you eat and that consumption is mostly about water. Protein is 75% water. When you go on a diet, after you clear out the water you burn protein from your storehouse.

You can’t just diet fat off because your body will give away all of it’s protein to protect itself, so you start to live on carbohydrates- and gain weight. When you lower your food intake, you lose protein, and this loss lowers your burn rate.

Ifyour diet istaking too long, remember that 3500 calories is one pound of fat.
